This may come as a surprise to some, but lawyers screw up sometimes. Sometimes we screw up big time.
Often these screw ups lead to some minor humiliation adn everyone gets a laugh.
Sometimes the screw ups are outrageous and wholly unfunny and cause terrible harm to innocent people.
To err is human. Lawyers are human (really) - to cover up errors, as a lawyer, well that is something that the public at large should get very angry about.

This is really ironic. My wife used to be the office manager at a law firm. Now she is a genius so this experiene is slightly skewed but she was astounded at how absolutely incredibly stupid the lawyers were that worked in her office and having moved to California she has seen nothing to change her mind. She now works for a dietary supplement company and does all of their legal regulatory work, but their general counsel still thinks they need a lawyer over her, even though she is one of 6 or 7 people in the whole country who knows this business inside out.

of course lot of lawyers are incredibilly stupid as in other professions .

The ones who are the most stupid ,inefficent ,and generally dishonest usually end up in congress or the senate serving one or other of the parties .

they're the ones who can't hack it at being a lawyer.
