When we first came to the US 8 years ago I did not like the daytime TV shows at all. I used to enjoy watching some of the day shows in the UK especially while having breakfast with the kids or cleaning the kitchen.
Well, for the first time in a few years now I actually have time to watch a little daytime TV again and started watching Ellen and Rachael Ray. I have to say that American daytime TV has gone up in standards. They are well rounded, down to earth women, who both bring great variety to their daytime shows. You don't have to watch the whole thing, each segment lasts no longer than 7 minutes and the adverts in-between don't go on forever!
Today, Ellen is testing wine. The guy who is teaching her is having her taste different foods and lick different products (leather, stone) and then taste the wine. Well, the guy has a pile of dirt, a cigar and a rib, and Ellen's face was a picture when he tasted the dirt and cigar together lol then drank the wine that is supposed to have these tastes run through it.
Yes, I've been here too long but it is nice to see a couple of Americans who actually have a sense of humor.
