Back in the day, I was a big fan of Ian Botham. Particualry seeming that he was a double threat!! He could bowl a mean out swinger and he could smash the bat around and during the ashes series he pulled out his A-game especially for the aussies!! Botham also played for my home county of Worcestershire and did his bit to bring a championship home!! I'm a fan of a lot of sports and back then he was as close to a sports hero as I have ever had in my life.
Botham's just been awarded a knighthood and hopefully it's not for what he accompished on the cricket pitch. Botham's done a lot of charity work for the fight against leukaemia, apparently he's helped raise over 10 million quid, so fair play to him.
To be quite honest I'm not a fan of kighthoods and OBE's and all that stuff, I don't think that beefy did all his charity work in the vain hope of getting a knighhood so I think I can put up with it wink
