We all seem to be too busy to be posting -me included- so I thought it was about time for a rambling "what's up" type thread.
It's the last week of school and Spring Soccer, so I've been busy making awards and t-shirts for the various classes and teams. And summer swim/dive practice has already started, so it's crazy overlap time.
And the weather is great, so who has time to be indoors?
You?
Well it's too hot to think here... It was 100 degs. today! We had the first real rain shower in six months last saturday... We desperately need rain.
Had to attend my friends husbands viewing tonight, funeral tomorrow. Sad, but a relief for her and him.
Otherwise on top of the world, weight going down, and I'm getting skinnier. But drinking all this blinking water is getting to me...
Who said retirement was a slow life, we've never been this busy in our lives before.
Loving the sunshine though, the birds are singing, babies learning to fly in my back yard, squirrels coming for corn. Yes I feed them all...
Now if only we could find some time to take a trip to the mountains that would be nice... grin
Trying to find a job, studying for actuary exams, doing chores the wife sets me.....they pretty much keep me indoors.

Good luck with your exams, Scramble. Been there, done that. Also with finding a job.
I'm trying to read for my thesis. Hoping that by next week I can start writing some of it.
Also, had three part-time jobs. One finished as I finish being an official student, and another one would finish if I got offered a teaching position at that college which I have been  The English department has offered me two classes to teach for September so now have to sort out a syllabus for them. And then got offered a job for freelance researching. And still have job 3, tutoring at a private Korean tutoring center.
Two older kids finished school last Friday and are just going in for exams now. Youngest finishes tomorrow and then just goes back in for exams. All exams finish next week. The older two are looking for summer jobs.
also been doing a lot of gardening. Planted veggies and different fruits. Also lots of flowers.
Busy, busy, busy :)
Ist week of summer hols for us.
Teen Dianey is getting braces fitted today after pulling C grades up to A with last ditch attempt assignments. Why is the last assignment worth 50% of their grades?
braces cost a lot.
Spent yesterday planting Gladioli so I hope the buggers come up now. Just googled them and found out they prefer sandy soil to our clay soil.
Three jobs eh? Ben. That's a hallmark of Bushes America that is. ;)
Well my life as been pretty exciting, had to drive to Utah to pick up stepdaughter who finally realised that her dad was a raving lunatic and is safer with her Mum. Then flew to Portugal to meet up with the family for a week. Then flew back and had to get house ready for showing as we realised that a $550k mortgage isn't enough, so we are getting a $700k mortgage instead. Then the dishwasher broke after, you guessed it 1 week after the warranty ran out, and yesterday the wife couldn't go to work because the garaga door broke, with her car inside....nice!!
have been running around arranging things for our vacation ,pet sitter , lawn care , cleaning house , paying bills , stopping mail , with all this i did find time to post a few threads , now you wont hear from me until early in july .
we go thursday one more day to post ...
I'm trying to catch up to my todo/schedule for moving but I just drop further behind. The behinder I get, the more behinder I get sad mrgreen
Busy at work as it is "All Stars Season" in little league and it seems all my co-workers have kids involved with games all over the state so we never have a full staff working..........
Busy volunteering with my child advocate duties which are becoming more and more complicated as each week passes. The powers that be are so hard to work with most of the time, but this little voice in the wilderness is getting louder and louder and louder.
The house is all fixed up now, just waiting for the first tropical storm of the season to hit and flood us out again. We are making some headway with drainage problems, at least the drainage district are listening to us now, actually doing something for us may be another story though roll
We do now have some time to enjoy our weekends although it is very very hot but riding the Triumph along the bluewater highway to Galveston early on Saturday morning was well worth getting hot and sweaty for. We have more fun than when we were teenagers......... wink
I am on the organizing committee for a camp this coming August. I am also one of the teachers at said camp. It is wilderness camping and we even have to create our own facilities, and set up water filters etc, but we're all the back to nature kind of folks and it is a great week for about 100-150 folks who attend.
Added to that, Mr Melhug is still convalescing from his bypass surgery and although he is doing great now, I still have to do some things for which he is still on restriction.
Plus, we have our two horses to care for and have to include the fourteen mile round trip to see to them every day. Not a long distance, but it does add to a busy day.
Plus, just life.... and life happens eh?
You all sound far too busy for my liking.
All this busy work is against my religion.
I've been busy organising my house as we were going to list it but a friends friend came by before and said she wanted it! We checked her place out which is MUCH larger than ours and not on the market yet and wham bam we made an offer so we are trading houses!! and the best thing is NO realtors!!!!! We are hoping to close the beginning of July ;) Hubby is putting the finishing touches on the basement he finished himself so have barely seen him in two weeks as I am unable to help.
Archie has finished school but will be back in a Year round program starting July 9th, which he is not happy about.
My youngest started daycare 2 days a week and is finally starting to enjoy it.
Me I am getting rounder by the minute with my 3rd son who ic due the middle of October. One neighbour I hadn't seen said "I had no idea you were pregnant again!" I said "Yup and getting bigger by the minute" she said " You are carrying well how many weeks have you left?" my response was a plesant smile " ummmm try months!" Great and the weather has been mid 90's lovely jubbly but not for me.
I volunteered us to put up a coach for the British Soccer Camp Arch will attend, he arrives Sunday so must get ready for that.
All in all pretty good grin
Dead-heading and rescuing a silly young bird who got his head stuck in the bird feeder. Can sparrows bring law suits? He's OK, and didn't panic when we held him to stop his neck breaking. What's more he's back feeding already. roll
Getting ready for our annual trip back home...Lucy and I fly on Friday and Mike will join us later on. Can't wait....fish and chips - here I come!!!
Debs x smile
