Im just getting my stuff ready for a trip this weekend to viginia to see my new granddaughter .

what a palarva to follow all the rules about boarding and take on baggage .
being as i am one to do things by the book i downloaded the permitted and prohibited items for tcarry on luggage ( im only taking a overnight bag for the 4 day trip ).

personal items everything liquid or gel must be in 3 oz or smaller containers .

toothpaste 3 oz i found with that in hand and a new toothbrush i proceeded to the *mens isle* disposable razors found but then a snag could i find any shaving cream /soap in 3 oz or under containers i could not . finaly settling on a cheap mug soap and a shaving bowl i had at home to complete my tioleties .

there is a clear picture on the site of a clear plastic bag 7in by 7 that these item with any other creams .jels , lubricants ?? MUST FIT into easily with cuticule cutters and a small aftershave lotion in a plastic bottle i filled the plastic bag * a zip up bag i borrowed from the kitchen *

now medicines these also have to be declared as mine are all in pill form i see no problem there .

Printing of the itenary and e ticket i see my prechoosen seat on one of the flights has been changed , so out with the cell phone and a call to the airline .
i must have a isle seat cus of my arthritic knees need to stretch and walk about a bit expecially on a 3 hour flight .

after a short but firm discussion with the airline repersentative i managed to claim a isle seat again 9B two seat side, not the aircraft side i prefer * left knee is the worst so ill settle for that unless there is a cancellation more favourable at check in ..

did you know about a site called seat guru ...

http//www.seatguru.com/

on here you can find the aircraft you are booked on and see which seats are favourable "green" be aware " yellow " and piss poor " red "
now i have "green seats " on all sectors .

apparantly the isle seats are the most in demand looking at the available seating on a few chosen flights at random not to many had isle seats available for the picking ,the middle * red " seat was availble thoughout the aircraft on all of the flights .

another item to look for on seat guru is which seat has a power plug avialable . sit in front of that row if you can , then there is no dickhead behind complaining he cant use his lap top when you recline for snooze time .

cant wait to see my 3 month old grandchild after all the hazzle .

It'll be worth it mate.
I like the seat guru site.

I don't remember doing all that crap you're doing. I just checked my luggage - far easier in the long run.
Don't your drug stores do sample size stuff. You can breeze down an aisle here and find teeny tiny bottles of shampoo, conditioner, all the gear you'd need and all costing very little. Even the cheap jack stores do them.
Enjoy seeing your grandchild. It'll be a good time.
I thought those liquid rules only applied to hand luggage. If you pack your lotions and potions in your checked suitcase there shouldn't be a problem.

I just looked at that seat site - very interesting. I now want to know how to get a free upgrade!
Just check it all dude.

When I flew back into Bristol a few weeks back there was no Customas at all. And I mean nothing - if you had anything to declare there was a poster with a phone number on it to dial. Now that's effective.
