There are something like 24 serious contenders for the top spot next year - and by "serious" I of course mean deluded. Some clearly are bonkers, and some border on dangerous. In America what usually happens is two fairly bad people win the nominations and the better qualified guys go out early. So considering that, who do you think should be the next President? Do you like the look of Giuliani or Hillary? Or McCain or Edwards? What about Gore or Kerry again? Or Huckabee or Romney?
For me the man by far and away most qualified to be President of anyone in office at the moment is Governor Bill Richardson (D) from New Mexico. The man is head and shoulders above his peers. He's been an Ambassador to the UN, been US Sec for Energy, and has been a very highly respected mediator around the world. He is a very successful Governor with only a few minor fibs to his name, and usually seems to be giving an honest answer to anything he's asked. Add that he's seen sense to actually allow Midwives within his state - good man.
Anyway, the rest of the field have their pluses and minuses, but Richardson is, for my money, the most qualified for the job. But then so was James Buchanan and he was a nightmare.
Wel we have the usual croup of suspects that will thin out as time goes by .
they are headed by those that lie thou there teeth, and those that *really* lie though there teeth and smile when doing so.
the scandals ( true or otherwise ) will thin it down a bit , and the deals made behind the scenes ie you stand down and ill find you a plum well paying job when i get elected ... wil thin it even further then it wil be a choice of the BEST OF TWO EVILS .....
you can bank on him /her being from the democratic camp .
not only cus of the mistakes this administation has made, but the lessons US political history tells us that the administation changes about every 8 years if not sooner.

I should be president. I don't see how I could do much worse than the current administration.
I would surround myself with experts from across the political spectrum, then whenever an issue would come up we would debate it until I felt I had the right solution. No pandering.

I agree on the democratic side he does seem to be the best . hillary has to much baggage (even though i think she will win the nomination ) ,and obama is still wet behind the ears .
