nobodies perfect .
DIRTY HARRY sudden impact
Harry Callahan( clint eastwood )
"go ahead make my day "
THE SHINNING
jack torrence ( jack nicholson )
breaking down the door
" Heres Johnny "
At the Sunday afternoon flic, cinema filled with late teens and early twenties. Instead of ushers, they have big muscled labourers as bouncers cos there's usually somebody putting the boot in.
An old black and white movie, "The Tower of London" with Boris Karloff playing the executioner, uses a big axe. Karloff has a lame leg that drags on the floor. He limps up the tower to execute a handsome young lord. Very dramatic moment, Head on the block, executioner leans down to pull the lord's hair out of the way of the axe, and my mate shouts out, "Short back and sides please". The whole place breaks out laughing, the bouncers come running, scurrying around, thinking there's bovver, this makes it even funnier.
It will take some heavy dementia to make me forget that scene.
Jaws "We're gonna need a bigger boat"
The Wicker Man. The scene toward the end of the film where Sgt. Howie is searching the island, kids in animal masks watch him, the bakers show him the Lord of the fields, weird people in the hairdressers etc.. Just really gets to me.
Peter Cushing up a tree waving his Brolly at a Dinosaur in At the Earths Core. I must have been about 4 or 5 and I saw this at the pictures. Probably the first movie I saw in the cinema. Has a lot to answer for..
Solaris. when Kris Kelvins Visitor drinks liquid oxygen. Tarkovsky runs the whole scen in reverse which makes it really eerie and unearthly.
El Topo. The opening sequence when the Gunfighter rides into the slaughtered town and gives his naked son a gun to shoot one of the survivors. Just so much blood and the squarking vultures.
The Coffee cup scene in Once upon a time in America where the stirring of the coffee is layered with a ringing telephone and dialogue. It just builds the layers one on top of the other. Astonishing.
The hunt for Red October, "You arrogant ass. You've killed *us*! "

Thats hillarious
I was also a bloke who used to shout out things ( usualLy drunk ) while others were watching a movie .
Seems funny i remember that and laugh , while at the same time have so much intolerance when todays youth does the same thing .
A sign of aging i suspect .
