No. but one was a university professor.

Nearly 200 killed today in Iraq, but CNN are still obsessing about the Virginia Tech shooting.

trouble is moo yea can always find some poor shit that has had more killed than a local issue.

It really comes down to, I don't give a shit what else happens around the globe, but today someone flashed an oap at walmart.

But can you blame america, when the world blames them no matter what they do in this world.

Put anyone in the situation they will always care about local stuff rather than whats happening in a different time zone to them.
Look up the term monkeysphere. It explains a lot about why people don't care.

/I certainly don't care
//off to flash an OAP at Walmart

Considering its a war tha they started and their continued occupation feeds the destruction and killing, then they should pay attention.

Bring back the draft and then you'll see them caring.

Isn't sending National Guard back after three months or six weeks leave for 15 months more or less a back door draft, or are people unaware of this. It's all over the Bay area news, but I haven't seen a whisper on CNN or Faux.
Yeah Annie, I think a lot of bad news is being buried due to blanket coverage of this.

Is it really such a serious story? I only remember 9/11 having so much wall to wall coverage.

Whatever you think of the policy its not a draft nationlal guard personel are volunteers .
O f course if Charlie Rangle *the darling of the left* gets his way we will have a draft .

I take your point John, but they didn't volunteer for overseas duty and yet they're being sent on a turn around basis which they themselves are calling a back door draft.
Maybe you don't have very many in Texas.

As Annie says, they did not volunteer for what is being demanded of them and they have no realistic way out.

I agree somewhat:-) no person signing up for national gaurd duty could have thought of the idea of being sent overseas to fight a losing war . ( unless of course they signed up within the last 4 years )it is how ever legal to send them there as distateful as it may be .

NATIONAL GUARD .

http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_National_Guard#Constitutional_charter_of_the_National_Guard

according to the constitution /charter the national guard can be mobilized at any time by the president to suppliment the regular forces .

some example of military action in the past where past national guard troops have been used to suppliment regular forces .

SOMALIA
DESERT STORM
BOSNIA
KOREA WAR
WW1
AND WW2
You're cheating by putting WW1, WW2 and Korea in there, there was a draft at those times.

The other three were not the current over the top, idiotic attempts to force "democracy" on the middle east via a domino effect.
