I don't know if it should be permitted, but it is not the same thing as selling sperm or blood, they do not diminish the body except for a very short time. Even tissue is regrown to some extent. The kidney is gone for ever.
the fact they won't take my blood here i say sorry you cannot have my organs lol
I love the fact they won't take my blood. It takes one person to hold my right or left hand down, and keep my face pointing in the other direction, and another to take the blood. It has on ocassions been impossible. Like when I was pre med and came up off the table and broke the nose of a young surgeon who was laughing at this silly needle phobia some people claimed to have. They made him apologise next morning, mind this was back in the 70's, you remember, all women were hysterical and men felt nothing.
As to selling kidneys, I believe if you're gonna do something quite so radical, having almost lost one, two are important, I think you should be allowed to meet the taker and charge what you feel they can afford. Needless to say only the rich would get transplants, mind, isn't that the way it's working already in Pakistan and India.

They have allowed me to start giving blood again .ive donated my organs after death ( what good they will be is ebatable )

A poor person, after selling a kidney, and spending the money on necessities, contracts a kidney disease and needs a transplant. Should the state pony up for a transplant?

There will be pressure for poor people to sell a kidney. I could see young people doing it to pay for college, for example.

They won't take my blood because I have emphysema, I have looked for a reason, but didn't find one.

Good points there micheal as aways in this world the poor will get the short end of the stick ..

if they need one they will be at the bottom of the list if it is paid for by the state /govt / country .
and if those who can pay get to be first to recieve a transplant the poor still get to be last .

they lose either way .....

Wonder if yea can buy them at the market, yea know the east end barrow boy,,

"get yea kidney, a'll types to match' , Buy two and get a lung free, com on darlin feel them ,fresh as the day they wer took" lol
