Did anyone else read about a week back about some poor guy that hung himself on the web? and that people in this chat room were egging him on. What sick bastards are these poeple, but I guess they are no worse than some people that told someone to jump as the police tried to talk them down. Would have thought they would at least be arrested for disordely conduct. I guess more prove that we are living in a sad sick world really.
There's actually suicide forums out there where you can discuss methods of Blapping one's Lulu with other likeminded souls, failed attempts and successes you know of.
Of course these are open to abuse so egging-on is as easy as typing your user name. Bizzare. roll

Reminds me of the old story of a fire in i home in ireland and i guy (catholic ) was trapped on the top floor jump said the fireman [protestent ) we will hold a sheet out for you he jumped they moved the sheet.

being serious for a moment that is the unfortunate side of the internet .
on one side it is a great comfort for those in need of friendship , advise , etc and it is of great help to those who unilise it for education , a great median for all of us humans to interect with humour ,politeness , and good grace , and a fun place to share innocuous chat and trivia .

on the dark side there are sites that show you have to make a bomb with l everyday items ,pictures of kiddy porn and advise for pedifiles as to how to kidnap a minor , hatefull , ignorant , digoted stuff from all walks of life political , religious ,racial and othwise .
yes its a sick world we live in hopefuly most of us have the decency to know what sites to click onto and which sites to avoid .

You're absolutely right there John, I don't know how many idiots i've encountered that I would never even bump into in the real world. I tend to inhabit places like the IMDB message boards which, as well as film makers of the world and movie nuts, it also attracts bigoted morons whose indelicate trolling really makes you wonder who these people are out there and what they do. I guess its like Paedo's, you just never know..
The internet is a fantastic communication and learning tool, but you have to watch out for what passes for the truth. Youtube movies are a good example of things being taken for reality when in fact they are complete fiction. Its up to the individual to recognise this division, but, unfortunately, this is often missed. Failure to identify with reality affects adults as well as children, and, unfortunately, there's been far too many incidents of suicide provoked by bullying.
Regulation of the internet is down to personal discretion and parental decision, to trry and offer some kind of blanket censorship or putting an end to so called net neutrality by selling it off like Cable TV is a move in the wrong direction. Adults should be able to act for themselves, and to make the right decisions for those they are responsible for.
end of rant. grin
