Once again we have a incident involving religion and religuios pratices .
these guys where refused passage on the plane cus *they had spoken anti american retoric * no threads where involved . i think its more to do with the fact they prayed before boarding .there baggage was searched and no bombs /weapons where found .
many christians *pray* before boarding should,nt that privilege /right be extended to any and all other religions /beliefs ??.
reading other reports it seems the airline took action on the word of *one * passenger without investicatiing the incident , . we are never going to have peace in this world until al the religions learn to *tolerant *each other ..
none of them has any prove of afterlife or a supreme being so each is as viable and valid as the next ....

This is what happens when the populace is fed a diet of "OMG teh scary muslims !!1!"
I bet if I was to pass a note saying "That Christian said some anti-american sentiment" I'd be the one thrown off the plane.
I would call this a two way street here. You have to be stupied to spout off about something in the current enviroment and in the US about the US. It would be like walking into a biker bar and saying very loud "all bikers are wankers" and not expecting to get the Sh*t kicked out of you.
The other side of the situation is that people should not look at someones faith and skin colour as a threat. People here have not been exposed to nutters like many parts of europe etc . I think we tend to look at the person, country, faith in some type of order. Its only when they belong to the IRA, Red Brigrade etc etc that you may think there are some issues you may have concern about.

you got that right .....

I disagree Goose. I would make a distinction between someone exercising their first ammendment rights to express their views and some plank who walks up to the security check at the airport and 'jokes' that they have a bomb in their bag. They deserve to be hauled off and subjected to the full cavity search.
I understand the biker bar analogy - but just because the bikers will kick the sh1t out of you doesn't mean it is right or lawful for them to do so.
This case is just another example of the frightening intolerance of muslims that is sweeoing both the US and Europe. How long before we start rounding them all up and putting them in camps.... whoops, Gitmo, we already started.

Goose, if you walk into a biker bar, you have to be halfway expecting some bovver, you shouldn't have that expectation of it in an airport.
There should be sensitivity on both sides. It just seems that both sides do not practice it. In fact some people just want to add more fuel to the fire. After all the Muslim individuals had reporters removed from the audiance when they let the world know they now intended to sue. Again adding more fuel.
Rob again I do feel that over here they are not used to dealing with these types of situations and the US tends to paint broad brush strokes rather than narrowing it down. The IRA and the Irish for instance. No matter if alot of Irish folks agreed personally with the troubles they always tended to get on very well with the UK and the UK did not look at every Irish person as a terrorist. Its only when they said they were a member of a para military group it became a problem. Did the UK target all Irish people? answer is no. Did it target the group member? yep course it did.
Ah debate lol

Actually in the mid to late 70s, the British did target all Irish people.
However I agree broadly with what you say. Living and working around Boston, I lost count of the number of stupid comments I heard from morons who told me they were Irish but in fact were third or fourth generation. The majority had never been to Ireland and those who had had only done one of those bus tours of the pretty bits.
I used to pint out that there are more Irish people living in Britain that there are in Ireland - and I'm talking about people with Irish citizenship and passports.
I heard on NPR that there are 44,000,000 people in the USA, who have Irish ancesters.
Also, that the French population in London makes it the seventh largest French city. o

The term in NW6 is "Plastic Paddy".
