I think the big fuss is that it was on the Oprah Winfrey Show. For a while at work, each time we received any of these suckers (book or dvd) they were assigned to a customer order....bloody loads of them. It's insane, it doesn't even look ayn good!
I complained to LKL, that they are supposed to announce infomercials as such, not pretend they are a news program.
I managed to borrow a copy from a pal of the original dvd. It's more than just thinking positive, and not everyone wants a pot of gold. I think the basic premise is good, very 60's, if it feels good go with it.
I also think it's quite necessary in todays society which is becoming a more isolated society than for a very long time. Technology allows you never to leave your house, or interact face to face with anyone.
Some people need to be jollied out of themselves occassionally, but now that interaction isn't there. What with pills, meds, technology, failing fertility rates, families being seperated for work or whatever, people need guidance of some kind.
Hells teeth I sat down at a table the other day with a young woman, early 20's who was proud of the fact she couldn't cook. She asked if she'd offended me, people tend to think I'm a nice quiet housewife who cooks and cleans all day, I do the former, not too good at the latter, and I said, well if you're happy to eat what other people give you, you're fine, me I like to know what I eat. It's why I learnt to cook.
Many women are still thinking they can have either, or, not both.
If I can cook maybe I can't audit, really, why not?
I like the dvd, although they may run afoul of many people by saying they can attract illness, especially when these days many illnesses now being found are genetic.
However they reckon you can alter your hereditary response.
I'm a bit skeptical on that.
But there's no harm in it, and thirty seconds before the end of the movie there's a fabulous shot of the native peoples of Australia, the guys with the paint and the dance, or maybe it was New Zealand, they were huge and fierce and painted with balck and white and at the end of their dance they kicked up the red earth, it's an incredible visual.
Oh and the outakes are really funny. mrgreen
