How often do you wash your hair?
Have your habits changed since moving to the US?
Sorry for such a silly question but I'm on a British site where a lot of the girls are saying twice a week because it gets frizzy. And they're also on about GHD's which is some sort of styling iron. But I swear if I washed mine twice a week it would look rank.
I wash mine at least once a day and if I've been working and want to go out later then twice I suppose. But it's mainly because I feel so dirty after work and full of germs.
Oh at least 5 or 6 times a week!

Everyday and that was the same when I was in the UK.
If I dont wash my hair everyday then thats when it gets frizzy, but that's mostly because of the high humidity here.
I know what you mean about feeling dirty and germs di  I was fanatical, especially when I was pediatric nursing. Shower as soon as I got home and scrubs straight in the wash
Oddly enough Ken Livingston has been going on and on about this sort of thing as a means to conserve energy and water. He stated that it is only vanity that has us washing our hair often. He suggest once a week the family should bathe - in the same water - and that his family does this already. He also mentioned not flushing the toilet after 6pm or if only one of you has used it. Nice.
Anyway, back to the point. I wash mine every other day. If I've been running I'll do it in the shower too.
Every day and as needed, just water and thorough scalp massaging though.
every day, sometimes twice.
I shower every morning and wash my hair while I'm in there. Sometimes again in the evening, if I get sweaty. Same as in the UK. I don't use shampoo or conditioner, so it doesn't take long. My hair is short and my drying and styling consits of a vigorous towelling followed by turning my head upside down and ruffling.
Beest does the same (different drying and styling technique -his is long and he enjoys letting it drip down his back (shock ;))).
Kids all used to have a bath or shower every night (same water if bath), hair is always washed at bath/shower time, but now they swim almost every day, they shower off at the pool instead. Sometimes Hebe uses Knot Forgotten conditioner when her hair gets particularly crappy from all the chlorine.
Ken and Mrs Ken (?Barbie) can't be getting much.
Bah Beest just posted while i was correcting my typos.
Every other day, unles I'm sweaty.
Monster no shampoo or conditioner, how does that work for you?
Everyday, and I shower at least twice a day. I never take a bath.

I wash my stubble daily.
/shorter hair than Britney Spears
usually about 3 times a week my wife then redoes my ponytail

That and not wanting to be a crusty.
/certainly doesn't want to share Red Ken's smeggy bathwater

Fantastically. None of us use them, kids never have. Hair is naturally self-cleansing, it just needs water to rinse the dirt away. Furthermore, none of us get itchy dry scalp so commonly suffered round here in the winter and we've never had to deal with the nit thing (so far, touch wood and all that).
And no, we don't have nasty greasy stinky hippy hair. It was a little harder to get rid of the kid's cradle cap than other people seemed to find it, but it went in the end and never caused them any grief.
Beest was the first of us to stop using S&C. After the initial discomfort as your hair readjusts it's so much nicer. Plus added bonus for me as I'm sensitive to soap and washing my hair played havoc with the eczema on my hands.
I shower at least daily and wash my hair daily unless I am just having a total veg day in which case I may not bother.
I know the question says "since we came to the states. I dont't think they have, or if they have, not by much.
The biggest changes were in the UK. When I was small, we were bathed in the sink, and i suppose my parents used the tin bath once a week. Then we moved up to places with a bath and used it more often. Then my brother and I went int the military and got used to showers, We had used the showers at the swimming pool but not every day. After the military, I rigged up a shower.
Here's the tin bath on the back wall at Fermoy Road. From your left, my Aunt Julia (my Dad's sister), me, my Mum and my godmother, Madamoiselle Caillier.
Nice picture! Did anyone ever say your mum looks like Cate Blanchett?
