Just been listening to the open up of the beeb for Saturday and apparently a new version of Marmite will hit the streets of UK next Thursday. It will be a limited run of 300,000 to begin with.
They made the marmite new by replacing the yeast normally used by yeast from the brewing of Guinness. It will not be alcoholic nor quite as salty.
Sounds good to me. grin
Normally used FROM the brewing of guiness or normally used IN the brewing of guiness? What I'm really asking is, will it be guiness flavoured?? -)
Ah, what they said was not alcoholic and not so salty, smoother and richer. It's the yeast that was used to make guinness. I am as I type sending vibes to my pal whose in UK. Bring Marmite Sash, bring marmite.
Saw this at Tesco today - I'm guessing they've decided to pitch more than just the 300,000.
I wouldn't touch it with yours mind you.
I was hearing recently about a failed attempt (years ago) downunder to launch a spinoff Mamite product. On the shelves next to Ma - mite was Pa - won't. No one seemed to get it and it failed miserably lol
never did like the original much" to salty " might try the new version one day .
