Wanna see the presenters from Top Gear driving cars in Alabama? What about with slogans on their cars like "Man Love Rules OK" and "Hillary For President" on them? And what if the ystop at a local gas station and the owner flips out?

Twas a funny episode overall but Clarkson thought an 89 Camaro was a cool car as opposed to something teenage girls drive.
Umm.....
why did they do this? ???
Haha truly suicidal behavior. I think it was the stuff about Nascar that really topped it off..
Been watching episodes of top gear over here, funny. Realise that Clarkson IS Alan Partidge made flesh.
even says "on that Bombshell.." Kind of funny. grin
I about wet myself laughing.
Umm.....
why did they do this? :???:
They were seeing if they could buy a car for $1000 and drive from Miami to New Orleans for cheaper than renting. Basically it was a reason for them to have a holiday in the US and make snooty comments about Americans. I like Top Gear, but some of the show last night was just dumb. There was a fair bit of stereotypical comments about fat stupid Americans and deliberate winding up of certain people. Some funny some not.
Here's a good forum debate (er...kinda) about this with footage of the rest of the show.

I bet they made a joke about packing a bomb at the airport too......
What is the point of Top Gear Dog?
you know, I've been thinking about this all afternoon (Not in any deep sort of way..) it kind of bugged me - ok its kind of dumb, Jackass tv, but its going to have all sorts of weird repercusions- I can imagine it being on the local tv station down there- I mean its a bit stupid. Trying to put one over the dumb redneck yanks, actually embarassing. Then running away like stupid kids, grow up clarkson, fer fucks sake! roll
I only saw this last night for the first time and only caught the second half and if you take it as face value I thought it was very entertaining. I'm sure some would have been upset at its (prob deliberate) portrayal of some parts of the US but having been to some of those places I know it's not so many miles away from the truth. If you don't take it seriously, quite funny.....
I've watched that episode and I think its one of the most dangerous thing they've done. They crossed the line and it almost backfire on them.
Sorry, I absolutely loved it, one of the funniest episodes ever. A guilty pleasure one might say.
Saying that, if I actually liked it here and was commited to the country it may not appear to be so funny so I can see where people are coming from...kind of !
