The music? The video?
Totally (well partially, at least) "not my thing", but damn it, it's haunting me.
Very expressive video and music.
You really do feel the anger of the father and the angst of the boys.
It's definitely disturbing, I wish I could translate the title, perhaps you know what it means, what language it is. The dolls with the head top missing really f***s with me. To feel that you have to empty your head to fit in is dreadful.
I thought the lead male with all the inbuilt aggression was a perfect model of so many guys who hate homosexuality, often when I see them in action I think, aha, you protest too much, but this is definitely disturbing. I hope there's more of this stuff, it needs to be seen.
Icelandic for "good weather for airstrikes"
Very disturbing i found it too
I think it's the depth of emotion portrayed that really grabs me. You feel every thought the boys and the dad have just watching their eyes.
Good Weather For Airstrikes
I Slide Forward
Through My Head
I Think Half Way
Backwards
See Myself Sing
The Anthem We Wrote Together
We Had A Dream
We Had Everything
We Rode To The End Of The World
We Rode Searching
Climbed Skyscrapers
Which Later Exploded
The Peace Was Gone
Balance Leaks Out
I Fall Down
Slide Forward
Through My Head
I Always Return To The Same Place
Total Silence
No Answer
(But) The Best Thing God Has Created
Is A New... Day
Sigur Ros? Poncey overrated Icelandic nonsense. Saw them at the HRH one time and wished I hadn't.
Thats a really beautiful song, and a video that certainly courts controversy - also attracts, or should I say, Exposes peoples homophobia. Reading through trolls comments and otherwise underneath the clip its interesting that the admitted Christians protest so much in such an uneloquent way. Everybody else? They're welcome here any day for tea and cake.
I wouldn't consider this Poncey, maybe pretentious, but its certainly not music for knucklescrapers. - in a country where Freebird is considered Classical Music, it makes a nice change from the norm. I've had a hard time this last couple of years trying to explain to people back in blighty just how different the music scene in the US is, people have a different reaction here to music. They seem to look at it as a kind of "You're in a band so play something we'll like" Like pub bands in the UK, everything has to be, so - well so similar. Weird. And they get so angry about it too! Just take a look at the music tv stations, its like daytime tv but made up from rock/pop video's. Even the music that is supposedly "Edgy" isn't really, they just bought it from Hot Topic.
Oh dear, sorry. The return of the Curmudgeon. roll
I guess thats a pretty emotional response. Music for the brain, mmmmm. Brains.
I've had a Sigur Ros album kickinging about the place for months- I guess I should go and listen to it now..
I'm a Sigur Ros fan meself - good song, good video and good album. To be frank I'm a post-rock music whore.

Hmmm. And this video?
I went and had a look at some of their other stuff last night, and -whilst it was all very artistic- I found it very samey and not of the same quality as this one. (That probably says more about my taste in music than their music.) I wouldn't listen to Sigur Ros without the videos -with the possible exception of airstrikes, simply because I would remember that video as I hear the track. Very haunting.

Nothing special.
Did nt do anything for me music or video wise .
im just into 70/80 music and did.nt see anything in the message that was earth shattering
So... I've bored of the video, but still play this occasionally -I can't seem to let it go- and I've now worked out my true fascination with this ...and also realised it won't work... (
....My figure skating has almost reached the beginner routine level and the crescendoes in this are perfect for a beginner waltz jump. Unfortunately, they are the fast bits in the piece and the rest is too slow to skate to. They need to be the slow bits.
Still, it feels good to realise that my skating has reached a level where I am looking for music... D
