I just thought some of you would like to know that the visa status of Indefinite Leave To Enter for the UK will no longer exist after April 2 2007. Which sucks for alot of people. Indefinite/Further Leave To Remain is being switched to Limited Leave To Remain which means there is now a specific end date and a citizenship test. I'm sorry I'm not producing a definitive link for this right now but my wife has two friends who are immigration lawyers for the UK and they have been informing as many people as they can.
One more result of the tightening of security because of terrorist action .

Here in the US you will no longer be able to enter canada or mexico ,central / south america . caribbean without a valid passport ,or alien registration card

Do you know what happens to those who have existing 'indefinite leave to remain'? Are they grandfathered or do they have to change their status?
Grandfathered - so no tests unless you want to be naturalised.

i have a situation here. i am an international student doing my bachelors in the US. i received my ILE from US in oct. 06. Now i hear rumors that once the visa is issued i have to enter UK every 2 yrs. Is it true or can i stay in US until 2014 coz that's when my visa gets expired. I am totally confused on what to do in a situation like this.
again one of my friend told me i have to enter with 3 months after the visa is issued. ITS like every different person have their own oponion.

help me out guys. any sorta help is appreciated.
