Ummm don't be pushed around on it. does not matter what happened to you 24 yrs ago. He F**ked up and should at least cover the cost for the second op. There is a duty of care and all that.
Rob your our lawyer what does it say in the good books about shit like this??. Could her insurance go after the surgeon for the costs in this case.??
Get better soon, take it easy and dont stress about the "doctor problems" until you are feeling stronger.
Find a lawyer from another area that deals with medical malpractise and that is not affiliated in any way with the doctor/hospital that you were treated.
Good luck with getting well and your redress to the surgeon made your health problems a lot worse.
Its unpleasent when something like this happens expecially as you will have to relate a lot of very personal details to attorneys and than in inself will bring back memories of the pain ans discomfort .. be strong and do what you feel is right .
I'm definately not going to just lay back and take the anwers I have had from the surgeons and the patient advocate. The patient advocate is an employee of the hospital so they really have the hospital's best interest's in mind. I'm going to document everything I can remember and have my family do the same and when I am feeling a little better consult with another lawyer. I still have another surgery to get thru and so I'll probably have to wait until I am done with that to really take some action.
Thanks again everyone for your support!
Good idea Clem, wait until you're up to it, oh and don't drink alcohol, my pal was drinking beer and the odd cocktail, stopped the acidophilus, cos he'd taken them all, surely they'd worked, and is now back in the hospital, possibly another wots it.
Take all the time you need to recover and pay nothing and noone til your procedures are finished. Oh and stay with the dophilus until you're reconnected and then some.
(apologies for mistakes, am using a lap top in bed, being as I now qualify as the major shareholder in Kleenex.)
