I need some accident/health insurance cover for our family trip home and the week we are to spend at my daughters wedding in Cyprus.
I googled it and didn't get an awful lot of success.
Any ideas what I need/ask for
My jewelry is worldwide coverage, but camera gear is just here, so I have to get that changed on our homeowners insurance anyway.
When back in the UK we had the blanket cover with the E111, but that has been cancelled and besides you need to be a UK Resident to use it.
roll
I think when I looked last time I just put in travel insurance and found one that seemed suitable for what we needed/wanted.
Something I've never looked into but meaning to find out - the health insurance we pay for over here, can we get it extended for traveling abroad?
When I got insurance for the kids it was really only for flight cancelations and delays more than anything because my understanding is that in an emergency they get NHS treatment. They just won't get flown back ???
The other option is to go to a travel agent and ask them. Liberty Travel is one we have locally.
When I went to South Africa I used my car insurance company, USAA who offered it.
When I go to the UK I don't bother with it as I have nothing worth nicking, the NHS is free for emergency treatment and I can't afford to buy anything worth nicking.

Tried our State Farm agent , they don't do travel ins.

When I put in 'travel insurance' to yahoo search, quite a few came up and many were related to US travelers. this is all I did when the older two flew a couple of years ago - the in-laws wanted the kids to come with insurance to protect their flights up to Scotland.
I have a question, though, regarding travel insurance - does it protect you financially if the airline staff go on strike? BA are having problems and the kids are flying home in Feb for a week. What I wasn't sure of was if it is worth getting insurance out to cover their flights or whether BA will have to reschedule or refund fares. Anyone know?
No, but I am going on BA in Feb too. evil I have just found out I will be flying on the last day of the scheduled action so maybe they will have resolved it by then. Meanwhile, supposedly I cannot cancel with a refund until they actually strike.
I am only going with them because they are the only carrier that go straight through from Denver to London but I'd really just like to cancel them and go with someone else and change.

You should be covered to some extent by your US Health Insurance anyway. When I travelled to Guatemala recently, I checked and they said I was covered worldwide. Of course its 'out of network' and all that...

I have a feeling that is the same date that my two are flying too. Shame you won't be on the same flight - you could have been a secret lookout!
