I'm pretty sure monster knows this one, but I'd thought I'd thow it up here ( no pun intended  )

An expat friend who has been getting into cake baking on a semi pro basis has been asked to make 'Yellow Cake' and needs to know what it is.

EDIT:
A quick google gives these two recipes:
http://baking.about.com/od/cakes/r/basicyellow.htm
http://www.ehow.com/how_11464_make-yellow-cake.html

seems heavy on the eggs and sugar ( ), compared to a Victoria Sponge (Which I make 1:1:1:1 by weight eggs flour butter sugar), also they add milk to make much more a batter. :o

Perhaps I'll try it out myself.
It's bog standard yacky American sponge. Packet mixes galore.

(please don't)

who is this anyway? d'you think we should try that new fangled thing of speaking to one another?

;)

Your dinner's in the cat.
This made me laugh. I do know what this yellow cake is, but the picture that came to mind first was a concentrated uranium ore, also known, or once was known, as yellow cake.
