......3 weeks in New Zealand grin
My daughter, Hannah, is there on her gap year. We're touring around both islands, then at the end an added bonus is that I meet up with my best friend from high school who married a Kiwi and whom I haven't seen for 15 years! To say I'm excited would be an understatement. It'll be such a treat to have all that one on one time with my daughter (she'll be so sick of me by the end, I'm sure!).
Bit nervous about the very long flight though - anyone have any tips? I'll be travelling for more than 24 hours shock
Oh and the other bonus is that I get to leave my menfolk to look after themseves wink They'll have a new appreciation for me when I return (I hope!).
Edited to add that any 17 to 24 year old living overseas but still in possession of a British passport can travel with a British 'Gap' group. We looked at American versions but they hardly exist, and where they do are prohibitively expensive. The British rates are very reasonable. Hannah went with http://www.gap.org.uk. She did attend an orientation in London last summer, but I don't think it was mandatory. She made her own way to LA and joined a group flight from London there.
