Does anyone own a Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali XL, 8 seater Toyota Sienna or the 8 seater Honda Odyssey????? Would appreciate some feedback. I think we are going to take a look at all four.

Thanks Zed
No, but we looked at the suburban and decided against it. Went for the Venture instead and so pleased we did. Much more comfortable ride for long journeys and much cheaper on gas. The suburban is huge!
I rented a GMC Envoy last week. Cool to drive but the petrol consumption nearly broke me and reversing it was a bit iffy as it was so long. Back seats were a bit uncomfortable but you could fit about 25 people back there. Front seats were nice and it had this really cool compass on the rearview mirror.

25 PEOPLE drawfs ,midgets and goblins not the average overwight american

We used to have a '98 Sienna. We bought it when we moved out here last year. We were diddled on it because it had a smoky engine. We recently changed it for a Chrysler Town and Country.

The Sienna is much better in terms of build - it feels much tougher. It did tend to drive like a van though. The Chrysler is much better round the corners. It's better on gas, even with a bigger engine. Although I think the knackered engine in the Sienna didn't help.

A van is infinitly more practical than a Suburban. These great beasts tend to be just huge cars. We find a van far more comfy esp. when we have family visit and we can all fit in one vehicle. Had a look at the Odyssey and it seemed nice enough, good Jap build but they are quite pricey.

Good luck

Did you look at one of these Zed:

I know the Suburban and Denali xl are beasts but with our number of brood we need something that can accomodate a large family. I actually was thinking cargo van type/school bus but Mr Zed nixed that idea.

Cel - We did take a look at the Saturn only online though. How do Saturns run? Are they reliable?

Zed
Why not buy a nice Mecedes...

The Suburban and the Yukon Denali XL are basically the same car. You pay more for the Denali as it has fancy stitching on the doors/seats and some other stuff. Are you talking about new cars, or used?

I've been inside the newer Chevy and GMC and I didn't like them at all. Too much chrome, too much flash, too wide, too greedy and too expensive.

I know nothing about the minivans, as you know wink

Stel.

A friend, who is a CPS Caseworker so hauls lots of kids around, has one and she loves it. It looks very nice but I haven't ridden in it yet so cant tell you much more. She was driving an Expedition and I do know she says the Saturn is a lot better on gas milage.
Might be worth looking at. Good luck mate!
