Pretty damn tropical, thanks for asking.
Will probably take the outside "holiday" lights down this weekend. Normally, they wait until March or April when the temperatures first creep above freezing.
Didn't get to see them reflected by the snow this year.... (

You could always leave them up. I'm sure were have a nice amount of snow come June.

This will be an excellent year to buy winter coats on sale. I am so glad I didn't splash out on new snow gear for the kids this year. For once, buying a child a bike for a January birthday is not such a silly idea....

Five foot of snow in three weeks.
Geez.
You run out of places to put the snow when you've shovelled and shovelled it. Plus I've got plants that have been buried for three weeks and are most likely dead. But where to put all this stuff?
I've also been stuck at work for 30 hours because of this. Institutionalized food and sharing a room with some poor girl who was 34 weeks pregnant who had to get up and pee every hour.
Grrr.

A record high temp of 70C today.
dianey, you'll have to do what they did in Buffalo one year when they had a huge amount of snow on the ground, they loaded it on empty freight trains and sent them south until it melted.

I think the state of Illinois cancelled winter this time around. It's now Spring here.

Lovely days, none above 57F, bloody cold nights, 28F, and winds that shake the house and reorganize the yard. Not my idea of fun, roll on sunny days and warm nights.

I was in Carmel Saturday night, eating at Clint Eastwood's place
"The Hog's Breath" great food by the way, it was a warm sunny afternoon but was a bloody cold night. Still pretty darn fine weather all around.

Back to snow removal, I had a question. We have diligently shoveled our sidewalk & drive from the past three snowstorms. Apparently there is a new one coming on Thursday with another foot of snow expected.
The city took it upon themselves today to go down our street and shovel any snow remaining on the road and plonk it on our nicely shoveled sidewalk and front yard. The pile is in excess of 4 ft in places. Are they going to expect us to shovel it back off?
Theyve done it to a lot of people down our street so we're not alone. But it's going to be a bugger when/if the new stuff comes down on Thursday.

if it's on the sidewalk and it's city code that it's your responsibiklity to keep that clear and you did clear it, then i should call them and ask them to remove it elsewhere. I should also try with the drive but expect less luck, as it's not a legal requirement that that is kept clear.

Terrible not used to this kinda thing here in texas . its cold the roads are covered in ice many places are closed no schools and its predicted to get worse .
Melanie went to work yesterday ,they had a mgt meeting and decided to closed the plant until at least wed , there would have been a problem of hourly staff reporting to work combined with the problem of getting supplies delived so she is taking a well erned 2 day rest .
I cancelled my dentist apointment ( having some root canel work done )and i do believe the dentist was pleased cus he shut up shop as well .
lots of piles up on the roads which is to be expected as taxans are the worlds worst drivers .
got all my ourside plants in sun so the garage is full of greenary , just left enought room for one car, left the garge door open about 1 ft so the 2 stray cats can come in and sleep in confort on the blankets on the floor i provided for them ...
