Trees down, sprogs off school. Very, very beautiful. Ask me again at the end of the day! lol
Annoyed that the dying/damaged tree is still standing, but the (formerly) live one is down -was hoping the weather would deal with the bad 'un for me! lazy or what? D
It's a bit chilly down here on the gulf coast, thats not right razz
I think we actually dodged the "Ice Alert" that has been talked to death on the local news for a week now but the sun hasn't been out for a few days, it's grey and depressive so it kind of reminds me of being back in England........ lol
NH got the ice storm last night. down to 0 tonight, about 15F right now. everythings frozen solid, holed up inside with Tea and cakes. grin
Of course we've been getting weather in the 70's. Now today the blinking wind started blowing and the air got colder and colder, and I'm freezing and hunting for a coat. Heating is running non stop.
Someone blew the cold wind south -(

I know Ginger, this is not right is it! We dont have too many winter clothes here and it feels strange to be so bundled up  Still at least we know it wont last too long around here..........or we hope it wont
Just a quick addendum to the snow removal.
I did get a ticket for not clearing my snow.
I called up the "City Code" dept and was told "Oh, let me guess, the city put the snow back on your sidewalk"
Because the whole street have complained it has now been downgraded to a warning v. taking us all to court.
However, we have been told that should this happen in future, we have to remove some 4 ft of frozen cold snow from our sidewalks.
This is just a friendly warning, for I'm sure that most stupid little American cities operate in the same way trying to get revenue and extra taxes for their snow removal budget.
It was -9F this morning when I was going to work, it got all the way up to 17F by the time i was heading home.
It's now down to 4F and I'm going to bed to snuggle under my duvet.
It snowed. Coldafornia. It's horrid, oh and buy your avocados, oranges and lemons now, they're freezing on the trees and the price and availabilty is going to be high and next to none.
Crazy that's for sure. Sunday and Monday were beautiful, mid 70's kids in T-shirts, shorts and sandals playing outside all day long. Todat the schools are shut as it snowed early this morning. Poor Archie played out in it for 2 hours, came back soaked to the skin, 1 hour later he is still cold wrapped in blankets, hot choc and soup on the way.
Woohoo, it's snowing! grin At long last winter has arrived.
With hurricane force winds in Britain and Europe, frozen citrus in California, several years worth of snow in Denver, ice in the SE, cold in the midwest and the NE, it seems to be strange to report that our weather is very ordinary.
