This case has been quite stupid from the start.
If alleged victims have a right to anonymity in these cases, then the alleged attackers are probably entitled to the same, until found guilty.
Equality currently? I think not.

I agree entirely the alleged perpetrators names have been banded about the internet like in all cases of this type .
however the blogers are not bound by the same silly rules the press have and you can find the name of the alleged victim on line as you can the alleged victim in the kobie bryant case .
the internet evens out the unfairness somewhat ...
I think these kids are guilty of being nasty upper class arseholes. But not rapists.

These days it is very difficult to successfully prosecute a rape case without DNA evidence.
The real issue here is that the prosecutor will have known from the outset that they did not have such evidence. He chose to wait until now to reveal this. The excuse that his investigator recently interviewed the victim is similarly thin, he should have done this months ago, and most likely did.
Unfortunately there are other issues in play here - not least that the prosecutor is an elected official.
My guess is that the whole prosecution could well collapse, leaving the prosecutor and the towna nd State facing a very large civil suit. One way out of this for the State is to push forward with other charges and hope to get a plea bargain...
