What you want to look for are known as 'Virginia Hams" - Wiliams and Sonoma *might* sell them if not then try Andronico's in Stanford.

I buy Sahlens Smokehouse deli ham from our local market, it's gorgeous and not at all wet or slippery....yeuch!
Don't know if you'd be able to get it there though.
