Would you prefer your toilet to be in a separate room from the bath/shower, or do you like them all being in the same room?
Or, for those in the US particularly, is it just no longer an issue because you have more bathrooms than family members?
Are you a bath or shower person? Do you enjoy lounging in the bath or the shower?
And do you read on the bog? If so, do you keep reading material in the room or take it in with you?
I prefer them separate, but with a handbasin in the toilet (a half bathroom as they call it here). Baths are places you go to get clean, toilets are for bodily waste disposal. People having long baths/showers make the toilet inaccessible. People with dodgy rear-ends can make the room unpleasant for a good while after -you can hold yer breath if you're desperate for the bog but you can't take a relaxing shower or bath when it stinks like a sewer.
I shower, and I love to turn the heat up and let it massage my skin after I've finished washing. I frequently make myself later than I planned by losing track of time in the shower.
Well I voted that it wasn't an issue as I have two full and one half bathroom basically to myself but I prefer having a separate room for a toilet I guess.
I see a lot of en suites that just plonk the toilet down without a door to seal it off and I don't like that at all. My en suite has a separate door and you can effectively seal off the toilet from the tub/shower/sink/closet. Coupled with a decent extractor fan, you should be able to take care of any 'problems'.
I like a bath now and then but am more a shower person.
Read on the bog? Yeah usually - computer/Xbox magazines, news paper, free ads - whatever comes to hand I guess. Should install a magazine rack in there or something.
I go with the seperated with a sink ideally.
Being Americanized I will soon have more bathrooms than people.
I have a plumber coming first of the year to finally install my 2 new bathrooms.
The idea is eventually to remove on bathroom and use the space for closets and reuce the one downstairs to half or a three quarter at most.
I always take a shower, the tub here is not the best, but would take a long soak occassionally given the chance.
I like it all together in one room. I don't read while sitting on the throne as I tend not to take very long. As far as washing, I can't remember the last bath I had as I always shower. I get bored if I have a bath....and wrinkly.
I like it all together in one room. And I am a bath person.. I love to relax in a nice hot bath. It's my cure-all, when I'm not feeling well I take a bath. If I was a gazillionare I would have a huge bath/jacuzzi to soak in!
And do you read on the bog? If so, do you keep reading material in the room or take it in with you?
I do a lot of reading on the commode. I have a large pile of Viz books. They're also very useful for those moments when one has to bite down.
I forgot to add... we do crossword puzzles on the toilet! We actually have a basket on the floor with a bunch of crossword magazines! Everyone that visits works on the crosswords. People will be in there forever and will come out and say "sorry...I got lost in a crossword"
lol
Bathroom with loo downstairs, shower with loo upstairs.
There's only two of us so if someone is in the bath, a huge 7foot job, then the other person goes upstairs if need be.
Downstairs has the best reading material, mags, National geographic, to People, upstairs has serious reading and not enough space to pile the books which leads to towers of books collapsing.
I don't mind both facilities in one room, but if I had to have a separation I'd rather it be another room than these half walls they build. Hells teeth if you're in the bath or the shower you really don't want someone coming in for a sit down, a slash is one thing, a sit down is something everyone should do alone.
grin
We have one full bathroom, one ensuite shower room bathroom and another shower bathroom in the basement.
I hate to use the bog in the basement when the other two are full up. Purely because my basement stinks.
...a sit down is something everyone should do alone.
Things like that should be under consideration for a Constitutional Amendment.
We actually removed one bathroom and coverted it into a pantry as that seemed a better use of space. Our house isn't that big and we had more toilets than bedrooms. We also had a psuedo en suite - basically a second door between the master bedroom and the upstairs bathroom. This just took up wall space and served no legitimate purpose... so we walled it up. I think the neighbors/builders think we are nuts, but this multiple bathroom obsession (mostly manifested in realtors) is plain daft.
I prefer the separate room, not least because it is impossible to have a show in out house uninterupted by Little Wonder needing the potty....
We have 2 full bathrooms one ensuite and the other ajacent to the quest bedroom .
cant say i prefer the bath and commode seperate i dont mind either way.
if one is being used we can use the other ,frequently if one of us goes to bed early the person still up uses the spare bathroom .
reading matter is a selection of small books like yoga for cats , politically correct bedtime stories, worlds greatest lies etc ,both have outside access window so no smelly problems. " MY S**T DONT STINK ANYWAY " also plug in airwick room fresheners are utilised in each one .for smells left by others of course LOL
bath/shower ive had one this month already so my opinion doesnt apply lol lol lol lol
