Does anyone here know approximately how long the processing time is after filing the I-751 (Petition to remove the conditions of residence)?

We realized that my husband's Visa expires in February and we have booked a trip back to England on March 1st! Pretty dumb of us I know - we should have made sure his Visa was renewed first!

We have the forms and are trying to get everything sent in this week. Do you think we will have his renewed Visa back in time for our March trip?

Thanks,
Clem
I don't have an answer, but I think it varies between different offices.
Like Rob says it varies. Could be anywhere between a few weeks to months (took about nine months for mine but that was more complex than usual).

Doesn't matter how long it takes - you just go up to the office before your status expires, explain the situation and if they see you are in the system, you get a temporary, 12 month I-751 stamp in your passport.

I had a couple while I was waiting for mine to get processed.
Oh thanks.. that good to know. I feel a little better about it.

The stamp is great - the agents all recognise it and it's a good, temporary replacement for the provisional green card.

I learned this when I didn't get a stamp and relied instead on the official INS (as was) letter that said it extended my out of date card if I carried both through Immigration with me.

The agents were unfamiliar with the process and I got sent to secondary inspection because of this. With the stamp, I had no problems at all and then the out of date card is not needed, causing much less confusion and worry.
Oh that's good. We're still going to try to get all the paperwork in right away and hopefully we'll get the new card before we go so we don't have to mess with any of it. It's good to know that there are other options if it doesn't come and we don't have to cancel the trip or anything! My husband would be devastated if that was the case - he is over-the-top excited to be going back for a visit and is counting down the days!
Just thought I would mention that my husband recieved a letter about 2 weeks ago extending his Visa by one year. He recieved a second letter with an appiontment date of Feb 3rd to come in and have his finger-prints and photo taken.

Oh and we won't being going back to the UK on March 1st as planned due to my medical issues. Fortunetly the airline is giving us a full refund on our tickets once they recieve a letter from my surgeon stating that I am not fit to travel. It took talking to several people at the airline to find a compentant person who found a "medical emergency" policy that allows them to refund our money. It's dissapointing that we can't go but I'm so relieved that we will get that money back!
