Considering the Christmas festivities are almost upon us.... I thought it might be an idea to share some of your favourite recipes for appies/starters, baked goods, drinks, etc....

What do you think.... worth a go? )
Ingredients 1 bottle of beer

Instructions remove cap

can be made in bulk batches

;)

It's a great idea. I need to make my mince pies. Using the homemade mincemeat I made so long ago I can't remember what I put in it. But it was based on Delia's recipe and included lots of brandy and it smells fantastic.

hic.

(OK, actually I need to ask the other half to make the pies, but I did make the mincemeat and I will do all the eating work)

I have a jar of that recipe sitting in the back of my fridge . . . think it's ciirca 2000!

French cheese, imported, from the warehouse, melon and Italian smoked ham, lots of booze, and if you have loads of Americans, any kind of chip and dip. Never liked mince pies or cake, unless it's a New York Cheesecake, a proper one, a huge slab of fat, none of this whipped stuff mrgreen
Barbeque shrimp. Super easy, just use a bit of garlic butter for seasoning and I can eat those all day.
*chuckles at some of the responses* grin

Apologies if I don't get the terms correct, but here is a quick appetizer that always goes over well...

Take a oven safe dish, layer cream cheese (can use a mix of cream cheese & sour cream) on the bottom. Next layer will be a tin/can of chili. Follow that with a layer of salsa (with excess sauce drained off - chucky style best). The top layer will be a mixture of cheeses such as Cheddar or Montrey Jack.

Bake in oven until heated to bubbling stage, remove and set aside for about 5 - 10 minutes to set slightly.

Serve up with tortilla chips. )
1 16 oz sour cream
2 blocks of cream cheese
2 jars of Hormel (I like them the best) real bacon bits - you could get really fancy and cook your own bacon!!
1 jar of Mt Olive sliced jalapenos (I like them the best) then dice them up

I've also added roasted red peppers to this and it's really good

Super yummy crowd pleaser, obviously omit the bacon if you're a veggie.
Portishead.... would you serve this with tortilla chips, or maybe crackers? I'm sure those jalapenos add that extra kick! ;)
Ooops should've said! You are spot on, tortilla chips )
Pickled onions.
