Lots of damage, 6 hurt.

I live at the tip of tornado alley, but still the nearest I've been to one was when I lived in the midwest .....of the UK -Birmingham. Have had to shelter in the basement two or three times since I've been here, but the local ones generally touch down in field and do little damage. So far anyway......
I saw that. I was amazed to see in the photo where the side of the house was gone, that there was still furniture standing up against what used to be the wall, and a picture on the opposite wall. Amazing!

I have never been anywhere near any tornado - I hadn't heard of any in the UK until the last few years so I was surprised to read that they are not uncommon. Of course they are very small by midwest standards.

There was a big tornado through here in 1953 and people are still talking about it; a bit like the "hurricane" of 1987 in SE England.

Does anyone know anyone in that area?
there are no trailer parks in london so how can it be so lol wink
Holy crap! I used to live in Kensal Rise.

/gotta be honest, in that part of town a tornado is probably urban renewal

Actually there are, although I'm not aware of any in Kensal Rise and they tend to be called Traveller Sites. Of course the beutification of London for the 2012 Olympics poses more of a threat than any tornado...
