We are off to England for the Chrimbo holidays in 4 weeks...Hippee. We also have our 18 month old in tow with us for the first time. We are going to stay at my family's house for a few days, but we also want to take a trip somewhere for 2/3 days, so that my time is not spent totally in HULL. So my question is where do we go?
Your first thought is probably a 1 way ticket out of Hull ) , but besides that ..any ideas with my son in tow. We thought of Edinburgh or surrounding area, and Brit family and friends response = too cold, too far away, and bloody expensive cos of Hogmany. Not that I listen to them winging, but then I started wondering about other places. We could always go to York, Lincoln, or Harrogate...which are approx an hour away..for a day trip, but I kind of wanted something different, but not really far. Last time I was home solo I was down in the Torquay/ Dartmoor area. We also considered Stratford Upon Avon.....brits response = too bloody touristy.
So I thought I would ask my fellow optimistic Brits. 3/4 hours drive is the max for us. Any thoughts??

Offside, we are taking my son to the pantomime while he's there. I had completely forgot about them while been here that should be a good laugh and bring back a few memories.
Go to Skeggy. Lil Moi will be traumatised for life.
I went to Skeggy Butlins when I was a wee nipper.....maybe that explains it all )
Center Parcs. we took our eldest when he was 18 months old and I was pregnant with number 2. One of the best holidays we have ever had with young kids. Safe, secure and everything there you could possible want. they do long weekends and Monday-Friday breaks so it is ideal for just a few days away. the nearest one to Hull is the Nottingham one which is the one we used to go to for our after Christmas break )

Forgot to say - when we went when James was only 18 months old, he was still in a cot so we just went for the one bedroomed place which was plenty big enough for the three of us. It keeps the price even lower.
Visit York and /or Durham,Lincoln,Beverley the rest are nowhere near.

With an 18month old :???: Well, I'm sure you would get one of two results - one the poor toddler will be scared out of their mind either from the noise of the actors dressed up (or both of course), or won't care but won't have a clue what is going on.

A bit different if you have older kids going along too.

Go to France, Belgium or Holland!

Andrew )
Go to oxford and regent street in London and see the lights lol. have fun and send pic's whereever you end up lol
