Anyone else watch it? It seems the British press are divided between an adequate performance and more-of-the-same underachievement. For me it was just dull. Why McClaren played Johnson as a right winger I'll never know. But Micah Richards did well - if he keeps playing like that I'd replace Dodgy Tache now rather than later. Here are my player ratings -
Robinson - 5. He's not convincing me. I'd have Carson, Kirkland, Green or Foster over him any day.
Cashley Cole - 6. Did well enough, but wish he would smile for God's sake.
Rio - 6. Looked a tad dodgy but did a job.
Terry - 6. Overhyped for me really. Reminds me of Donkey.
Micah - 7. Bright, confident and better than Neville.
Joe Cole - 7. Good passing, actual invention and oddly better when roaming down the right. But he could found "The Joe Cole School Of Diving" too. Stay on your damn feet man!
Lampard - 6. Average but then he was playing with Carrick.
Gerrard - 5. Played like he has no confidence. Won't stay on the right either like he's supposed to.
Carrick - 4. Why bother? He looks so average it's depressing. How is he in the team?
Johnson - 5. Out of position so not a fair rating really but he should be able to do more than one thing at this level.
Rooney - 6. Alright, looked hungry enough. Actually scored. shock
Richardson - 4. Not good enough. If he played for Blackburn he wouldn't be in the squad. Simple as that.
Wright-Phillips - 5. Overrated again for me. When Chelski sell him to Charlton or whomever he'll be shown up for what he is - the fats kid at skool who won't pass the ball.
Twas ok. McClaren is pish though so I have a feeling we won't make it to Euro 2008.
