Thanks everyone
I haven't owned or driven a ford over here, so I hate to contradict those who have.
However I did read at the weekend that the newer fords, specifically the Ford Fusion/Mercury Milan, are in Consumer Reports top 5.
Obviously neither meets your needs...
Any suggestions and not a Mini Van :???:
Volvo V70.
Why three rows of seating? Just googled for third row seating and I'm pulling lots of Consumer Reports pages about how unsafe that 3rd row is.
Thanks everyone

I have the dubious honour of owning a brand new Ford Fusion. I have the most expensive one they make...and it is a complete pile of cack. The handling on anything but a straight road is just dangerous. For some reason the turning circle is only half of what is should be. The build quality is absolutely awful, no other word for it and the layout of the ergonomics is a complete and utter abortion. Anyone looking at this car, do yourself a favor, buy an Accord.
BTW - EEB do you mean the ergonomics are an abomination? 8O

That probably works better...
We have a 98 Chev malibu this seem to be a great commuting car.I like the looks of the 06 and 07 models (Hatchback). They are built on the Saab frame.
The Hondas and Toyotas can be expensive on repairs,as can all cars for that matter.
The Subarus seems to be a popular car around these parts now.
If I was to tour the US of A some of the new vans look very comfortable.

In short VRB babies, babies, babies.... Both my boys are in car seats and they take up the entire row. No room for anything else.
There are other, less costly and safer, vehicles that might meet your needs.
I'm not an expert by any means, but I's recomend you cast your net a little wider, look at 'crossovers' or some of the soft roaders. Also, Toyota and Honda tend to come top of the reliability ratings. Contrary to JohnA's view, British built vehicles tend not to.
