Oh come on, you only trying to rationalize a crap decision, be honest, most of you would much rather be back home but you’ve made your bed (sold your soul to the devil), you’ve got married or had kids here, but really you wish you could go home and not be the outsider or see your kids grow up to be foreigners with American accents. You know you miss Christmas with your family and friends. .

True, even though we are going to move back the logistics of doing it are a complete nightmare, retirement funds, belongings, houses and all that crap.

I'm sorry, "trevy" as in trevy fountain

BTW joking, I love all kids I don't care what they're called.

Not offended at all, have no idea what the Trevy Fountain is though?? :???:

His name is Trevor just Trevy is my cute name for him :)

Nudge nudge reference for the Baroque Trevi fountain in Rome, located in the Trevi region. I think it was where an aquaduct finished that supplied Rome with water..

I am sure there must be a replica in Las Vegas hotel somewhere..

History lesson over

Actually no. One of the few things there isn't a faux-version of...

You are either behaving like a troll or you are too thick to realise that the above post and it's ilk, would be insulting to those of us who prefer it here.

It's a good job that we are wise enough to consider the source.

While I made a generalized statement, which you may or may not agree with, at least I didn't stoop to personal insults.

The world is my home because I am a child of the world, wandering and wondering.

We had blue sky today.

Moo, you should be spanked, wuffly.

Oh, and you couldn't pay me enough to go back there.

Fully agree there too McZ . . . .I'm dreading going back there in June next year . . . the only hope for me is to spend a few days with John's ex boss who pushing that magic # had to leave here because he could just not afford to retire here. They live off the beaten track somewhere near Honiton now.

How anybody can get tired of blue sky is beyond me. 8)

You know Andrew . . . europe will be full of chavs soon . . . you really should stay!

MOO a troll ummmmm never, but then again lol.

I am sure that there are parts of england or being english we wish we could bring with us. Long lazy evenings in the beer garden etc etc. All will be different for different folks.

Regrets sometimes, but you always have regrets whatever you do in your life, thats why its better to look forward rather than look back. Looking back stops you moving forward.

I said that for me, Britain is a nice place to visit. Full stop.

You replied that I was trying to rationalise a crap decision, etc., etc. That looked more personal than general.

If I'm just mixed up on this, I apologise.

You must be joking.
My UK family, all two, are both over 80. Most of my close family ( my children and grandchildren) and friends are on this side of the pond.
Also unlike most of you I have no longing to return even for a visit. My last visit was to see my mother one year before she died in 1983. No reason to return now and there are far more interesting places to visit.
The UK I remember ( 1960's) no longer exists and no amount of wishful thinking will change that.

not a day goes by without me thinking of going home permanently.
