we have had no water since 2pm this afternoon.
Dam next door, well they are new and are having the house ripped apart and decided to rip all the front garden out and replace the fence. We pay 50% of the price.
They, small mexican person that is, sunk a sledge hammer through the 2inch feed.
I'm so pissed we have no water right now . . . roll
That'd be illegal in Oregon and you get a big fine - you're supposed to "call before you dig". I called the state hotline when I had my fence put in and some guy came out for free and spray painted all the pipes and cables on the ground so we would avoid them.
Sorry to hear of the troubles you've had - how long before it gets taken care of?
Its illegal here to .Ithought all states had a alw about digging you might want to check to see it you have one .
We had a similar similar fence thing in a previous home the neighbour "had "to put one up because of his stupid dogs he ask us for half ..
answer its your dogs you put up the fence and you can own all of it ....
Yep, same with us. The fence people called the town and did the paperwork for us and checked there were not going to be any problems re utilities etc.

No codes here as far as I know for fences other than height.
Doesn't stop idiots puttting holes in pipes in there was !

It isn't so much the fence as the digging, especially at the front of the house. When you go passed a certain point towards the front of your property you are supposed to get permission from the town if you are going to dig down so many inches. Because fence posts have deep holes they are supposed to check to utilities before digging.

I'll bet you got codes, Lady. All states got them. You might even need a building permit for the fence. You don't axactly live in the sticks.
Your existing fence could pre-date the "Call before you dig" rules came out. That was 1975, in PA.
I called and had the utilities come out because we were planting a tree. Don't think it matters what you're messing about with, if you're going to dig a hole, they want to know.
Oh, and they came back for the fence people.
Even 'Dig Safe' isn't foolproof, though.
A family we know in town were having extensive yard work done last year and a contractor managed to dig through a gas pipe and the entire house blew up at 11am one morning. Luckily everyone was out, but Dig Safe had apparently told them where to dig....... roll

As I said earlier only codes here in our city are for height, and no permit needed under 6ft
Dig safe doesn't stop them holes happening, and where he fractured the pipe was 12 inches from the water meter
We have codes up the wazzoo in san jose, we call and they all turn up within 3 days and spray their own turf, and we dig round it. Cable, phone, leccy, gas, it's amazing how organised they can be,

I know I shouldn't laugh but that just sounded so funny
Also, big trucks and dumpers driving over your yard cause broken pipes and trouble of all kinds.
I wonder who pays for the thousand gallons of water from the broken pipe that have gone to waste??

Other than the odd paramedic vehicle we have none of that here. Our 2" feed was for our remodel in 2004 and we seem to be 1" on our bill!
