I am professional enough to work with someone as a co-worker, or a customer, without any problems as far as their race, religion, private life. But outside of work is a different story.

That's a shame but on the other hand, it's your choice and no one can make you change it. I think the reasoning is a bit sad though.

I won't deal with people that call me, asking for money or to buy something and same goes for anyone that comes to the door, trying to sell me something. I guess that is me exercising my choice and it wouldn't matter if they were school kids, charities or any other group - that's my policy.

I don't reject them for who they are though - just the expectation they arrive with.

What I did is what I did. What you think I did is conjecture at best, make-believe at worst. I didn't reply to the thread so how can you prove me wrong? You just have to take my words as honest truth.
You see that eyeball on the toolbar E17? That says you've eyeballed that thread 45 times.

I don't reject gays for who they are. They are human like the rest of us. I won't open up any more cans of worms here by stating what I know to be true about their condition, as it will probably be misunderstood or misquoted. I'll leave you with this:

Quote:
Matthew 10:8
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: ...

Matthew 22:39
And the second [commandment] is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

What is funnier are the attempts of the right-wing media supporters to try to defuse the issue by pretending Foley is a Democrat. Fox and I think AP had occasions last week where their captions listed Foley with a 'D' and not his expected 'R'.

Well yes, because a child abusing gay MUST be a Democrat, right?

Stupid Republicans trying to make "Christian" a pseudonym for "Republican" again...

Personally I think they have as much right to refuse to do business with this company as:

+ A landlord turns down a potential renter because they have pets
+ A company turns down a potential customer because they have bad credit

It's their right to deal with whoever they wish to.

But how far do you take this? Do you resume to take a customer because he's Jewish? Muslim? Divorced? Handicapped? Black? Hispanic?

How can I make it clearer that I don't hate gays? Certainly not bashing them! I just don't want to deal with them. And I know my friends. And I respect any Christian's right to their beliefs, which are not to associate with people who are out of line with the Word of God.

Christians are to love their neighbours, and to love sinners. Do you think Jesus 'wouldn't deal with them' seeing that he dined and hung out with 'sinners'?

And if the gays felt strong enough about their position surely they would refuse to do business with a company which was openly pushing the principles of Biblical marriage.

Strange how this report cropped up the day after the Democrats won the Senate, isn't it.

And why do people naturally assume that just because you don't want to deal with a particular demographic that you HATE them? I don't HATE gays. I just don't know any as friends, nor do I wish to know any. I have no wish to visit Portugal on holiday, doesn't mean to say I hate the Portuguese. I don't want to eat sauerkraut out of a can for lunch, doesn't mean to say I hate sauerkraut.

Sooo by that token you ask all your prospective friends about their orientation before you would grace them with your company. Living in San Francisco it has become pretty evident who is gay and who isn't. The people who are gay are the ones who stand out...as decent human beings.

You are right, adeshell. But there is also scripture that says to avoid contact with people who don't follow the Word. Jesus hung out with those people and converted them by healing them from their infirmities. They wanted to be healed and cleansed. If a gay person came to me wanting to be rid of the spirit I would help him. But I am not gonna stand at a street corner at a rainbow pride march in San Francisco and force them into something they don't want.

I would also certainly not do this kind of thing, which is right wing extremism and not Christianity:

Yes it quotes scripture, but it quotes a New Testament verse which is a quote out of the Old Testament.

I'll need to study this a little to see what was meant. Back later.
AHA! Cool. Glad that's cleared up then.

I guess the people with those signs are just christians that go to "11" then right? Because in their own sanctimonious little world they know more than you know or know him just a little better...

The word...ah, you watch the Colbert Report too!
