Hi, I'm already thinking the answer is 'no', but here goes
I live in the UK but I spent the summer in Florida, loved every minute of it and made many friends. I would dearly love to live there and work round the Tampa area. Trouble is that I am 61yo, very active and want to work as long as possible, but would expect that my age is an immediate no, no - apart from anything else.
I'm financially independant, so thats not a problem. Anyone got any thoughts/ideas pls?
Welcome Lindy.

Others will chime in with advice no doubt, but I'll offer some thoughts that the US is less ageist than the UK and you'll find that many folks that work over here, either because they have to or because they want to that 61 years old is not considered "pas it" or a "no, no"

61 is really nothing. From what I have observed in the last 16 years living here people in general do not "retire" per se, moreover they shift gears. Retirement IMO is a bad thing.

Good luck!

your age isn't as much a problem of securing a work entitling visa.
Thank you for the replies, at least they weren't as negative as I was expecting. I'll carry on trying to get more info.
