Since Lynn Cheney's interview with WOlf Blizer on CNN, people having been asking this question.

Do you want America to win the war against Iraq?

or Do you want Iraq to win against America?
Why is Lynn Cheney's opinion newsworthy? Can't they get anyone that actually has some bearing to comment?

People compare Cheney to Darth Vader but the reality is that at least Darth Vader gave his troops decent looking body armour (not that it worked very well).

Ok, edited to add that I hadn't seen or heard the exchange so went off to find it. The interview is here

I'm puzzled as to why Lynn Cheney is on 'The Situation Room', discussing a children's book. She seems as puzzled to be having to fend off questions about the White House administration. Further research shows Wolf Blitzer stating that she was made aware that they would talk about political events and her book.

The book was clearly a ruse by Blitzer/CNN. It was a bit naughty to set her up like that. Then again, childrens' books can hurt America. Look at how long "The Pet Goat" distracted the President!

Me too.

Didn't Faux pull the same stunt on Clinton awhile back, asking him to come in and talk about Katrina relief and then grilling him on why he didn't catch Bin Laden.
Switching the subject when interviewing people in powerful positions is a game all good journalists play from time to time .

except in this case she doesnt and hasnt held position of power at any time .

except of course wearing the pants in the cheney houshold. lol
Why oh why didn't Blitzer ask her if Dick had shot anyone in the face lately?

I disagree here. She is selling a book, but she is also a campaigner for the GOP. She tours around separately from Darth. She may be playing both ends here. Her book will get her in places where her political tour won't, and vice versa. The situation room gets a large audience for the book if she will talk politics, and gives her a reason to change the subject if things get difficult.

You can get the transcript here if you like -
