All of a sudden, I'm popular. Gary Bauer and George W Bush, both left messages on my phone today. I felt all warm and fuzzy. I was so thrilled that I listened several times, but after several listens, I was saddened to realise that they weren't interested in me at all. Mr Bauer, wanted to make sure that I understood that our biggest, our absolute biggest problem is that some "activist" court might allow two people of the same sex to marry. Mr Bush thinks we should stay the course, not in those words any more, but stay the course and keep sending Americans to Iraq to be killed.

It is as if the Caliphate already exists, and we have to keep sending young men as sacrificial offerings, to keep it from our shores.

A more cynical person might think that they are laid at the feet of Mr, Bush's Imperial Presidency, it needs war to prevent it relapsing into the ordinary presidency of peacetime.
Hmmmmm! Not sure whether I'd prefer that or the messages we get from Russian moving companies "Hallo my name is Boris. If you - or anyone you know is moving...." or from resort companies telling me - well not by name - but telling me nevertheless, that I've been "specially selected" for a weekend trip to Collingwood, Ontario (lucky me!!) and that all I have to do is ring a 1-800 number. Strangely, I've resisted the temptation.

We've had a couple of leaflets for our upcoming mayoral/city councillor election. I'm ashamed to say I know nothing about any of the candidates apart from our current mayor. Looking at the last leaflet we decided we could never vote for the candidate because he looks like Geraldo Rivera. In fact I was quite tempted to e-mail him to say he was much better before he joined Fox and pretended to be a real reporter.

Hey! In the U.S can't you ask for Bush to be put on your do-not-call list??

Yes... and then large men in black suits knock at your door and ask why you hate Murrika.

No, we can"t shut out politicals or charities.

I sent a blistering email to the PA GOP, to tell them to stop insulting my intelligence and that they are pissing me off to the point that I will vote for the other side, since they have so little to show me that they concentrate on the opposition.
