If you were returning back to the UK, where would you settle? I'm asking because I will be returning with my mum shortly, and we will be setting up again from fresh.

I'd want to go back to Devon for various reasons but doubt I could get a decent job down there.
I'd settle for anywhere between London and Plymouth and no further north than Oxford. Somehow, I suspect I would end up in Bracknell again roll
About where I'm heading, Pilgrim. Brissle for me. Within decent distance of most of the IT jobs in the M4 corridor if nothing shows up in the Avon area, and still within an hour or so of the most beautiful coastline in England.
Bristol seems like a decent area for jobs and being close to M4 corridor/Westcountry.
I doubt that I shall return, even to visit, but if I did, it would be near Taunton, perhaps in the Blackdown Hills. But I wouldn't be looking for work.
If I was landing and had to find a job, West Sussex 'cause thats where all my family are. If a great job was in a particular area then I would go there.
Anyone got any input on Worcester or Gloucester? Two towns that have come up in my research. Appreciate any and all input.

I'd head back for Warwickshire - Leamington Spa - great town, basically in the country but with access easily to all the major cities including London (an hour + drive). Housing's expensive though - but hey that's the UK now I guess....
Would ,nt step any further south /north east or wast than central london preferable id live in the up town sw or east end part of the city .
as far as im concerned anybody not living within easy reach of the london underground is a country bumpkin

From what people tell me the M4 corridoor is fantastic for IT - particularly if you can drive out to Wiltshire.

Even though I lived in North Wales, I would move to Eastbourne, E. Sussex.
I would go back to Bexhill but for the crappy roads and poor job situation. The A259 and A21 are hopeless, so I would be more likely to end up further west or north job permitting.
But its not going to happen, Mrs QH likes being 20 yards from where she grew up !!!!!
