Would love to go to Cornwall but there have never been any jobs down there, unless New Labour want to reopen the tin mines.

Probably end up in home counties/East Anglia.

I was watching something on the Travel Channel the other night about Cornwall. Apparently tourism is making a huge impact there - maybe open a Meskin restaurant?

/mmm meskin pasties sound good right about now

The only problem with London John, is that there are very few Londoners still living there.

Somerset..? its a low cost of living area ??? you cant beat it as i lived in Bridgwater for 12yrs til i moved to the US ..there you'll find a a fellow Brit and not the invades who are draining the system... but everyone 2 there own...shame to say if you go back be shore ... thats what you wanta do .its not like it used to be like.... dont get me wrong IM a Brit 100% but after this trip and what i have heard and seen on the box this country is going to the dogs ... BRING BACK BRITISH RULE .!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Hi Bill, so what part of Hartlepool do you come from?

Expatriate 'Geordie'..now living in Brimfield, Massachusetts, in New England. USA.
I would love to return to England, and even though I get home to Northumberland every year at Christmas...I don't know if I could afford to live there all year around.
I'm on a fixed income, and while Massachusetts is not the cheapest place to live in America, I don't think I could survive.
I would need to work, and I am 60, so I would have to consider 'age' discrimination.
There are so many people unemployed in the North-East, I doubt I would even get an interview if I were to apply for a job.
