I was woken at 100am this morning by a friend to tell me where I live was being evacuated due to a chemical leak. Apparantly at 1000 last night a Industrial Waste storage/disposal company went big badda boomy! For some reason I did not hear the 16-30 explosions. Luckily we did not have to leave our home the wind was blowing in the opposite direction but we have had to turn the A/C off and shut all windows. We were both up most of the night just watching the events unfold as more and more people were asked to leave. So scary you just never know what is around the next corner, although I have learnt to have an emergency travel bag at the ready. Today we all stayed in doors, Archie's school was a shelter and my hubby stayed home in case we had to leave as you all know I am unable to drive so me and the boys would have been up that big ol creek without a paddle. It's weird, everywhere is closed, no roads are open coming into the town, never known anything like it.

Frightening, I did wonder if any of the BE zoo would be involved, I heard that the fire has died down a little. Good luck.
It has thankfully, four small fires blaze now and they are hoping to put them out in the next hour or two. Still awaiting air quality assessment.
I read about this on MSNBC this morning - scary!
Just seen this on the news. Sorry you're affected. Are you able to go out just yet?
PH,I say if you can learn to or drive somehow anything in an emergency regardless you must get out of there ASAP.
They've told them to stay put if they didn't leave earlier.
Last night they were still battling the fires but have said the air quality is ok, my family and I are ok grin
That's good news.
Glad to hear you are all OK )
This place went boomy again!!!!! Just can't believe it and they are asking to rebuild as well, there was no chance after the first now another has happened they are taking the piss if they push it anymore.

Luckily this time it was on a smaller scale but still it was a chemical, it did explode and it has left nasty gases and a small plume, enough to evacuate the immediate area.

I know!!!!

It seems there are so many chemicals there and it was a container with a product that reacts to air and water and it rained all day yesterday, I guess it got in there. You'd think by now they would have the area contained!!!!

yea would think they would know what each chemical was at least. lol

maybe yea need to move lol
