to dress a kid up as a suicide bomber for Halloween?

I'm not sure I would frame it as a question of taste. More a risk of being unkind to someone who has lost somebody to a suicide bomber.

Having said that, it's guaranteed that someone will consider it in bad taste.

That kid would have either the least amount of candy or net the most amount of candy EVER!

Pretty sure it wouldn't go over well on the whole but a novel idea.

I did find images of Suicide Bomber Barbie. (I found an image of a kid dressed as a suicide bomber, but I had a horrible feeling it was for real, so didn't post) Sometimes you just have to ignore reality to have a little fun.

Last year my kids went out as monster trucks. They kill people too ;) ......And there are many who go round in George Bush masks...... shock lol

Ummmm monster think you would be pushing yea luck with that one lol. I remember when I was at college we had a fancy dress party and one of our group was arrested cuz he dressed up like an IRA member.

Infact was'nt some army sargent charged for dressing up as an Arab bomber for fancy dress some years back.

So based on all that I think it would be wrong, part from the fact you may get some excited cop taking a shot or something.

She wanted something even more electronic and high-tech than the monster trucks with working headlights. We suggested a dalek.... she went with... a Czech Folk Dancer. ???

OK, so the boys have changed their minds from Jedi Knight and Superman, and we're going with the suicide bomber, a KKK member and a Czech Folk Dancer. Interesting Times. My 3yo neice will also be visiting from England. Suggestions?

A clan member, an aborted fetus, a suicide bomber and a Czech folk dancer? Where in God's name did the idea for a Czech folk dancer come from? Man I wish I had kids to dress up.

OK that last suggestion was bad taste and I retract it. I was feeling a little stressed last night.

This is general stereotyping and is NOT accusatory.

I was musing that when my children went out for Halloween, the subjects were 'innocent', they were superheros, princesses, cartoon characters, etc.. It looks as though political statements have been creeping in.

I dunno about political statements. Lack of imagination and thought, I reckon. Bush masks are readily available, pop one over your head and you're good to go. Now if they wore the Bush mask and dressed up as a suicide bomber, that might be considered a political statement. But that would require thought and preparation.

You could have one giant political statement - have the one kid in a Bush mask trying to kill the kid dressed as a suicide bomber, but also trying depserately to protect the fetus due to the sanctity of all human life. It'll be wonderfully political. At some point the fetus could start to dress like a suicide bomber, at which point it must be waterboarded.
