Moving on, after reading this, I wonder if he is dead and the U.S. is holding up something to keep up with the "war on terror".

Some experts in US Intelligence believe he was killed quite some time ago - but they don't say it too loudly as it is out of step with the White House.
The videos and audio tapes that come out are not particularly convincing. One that comes to mind was an outright fraud and quite amateurish.
I have believed he has been dead for a long time, probably around the time they blasted the heck out of Afganistan mountains.
Why else would only audio tapes be surfacing of him.
I think this latest "leak" by the French was to push the US into a position of justifying it's continued presence in the middle east.
Even if they knew, they wouldn't admit to it now. It serves the machine better for his existence to be ambiguous, and for us, the masses, not to really know anything other than what they think we should know. shock
Who knows it wouldnt matter anyway, as the the terrorists are well funded and will never be completly wiped out .
you can kill the leader but not the idea .
hitler is dead fachism is still alive .
karl marx is dead communism is still thriving .
He's still about, bet he's working somewhere down town lol
He works at my local 7-11.
I've always wondered how he managed to lug the kidney dialysis machine around. He needed twice weekly treatment. Guess those caves were well equipped. twisted
The kidney stuff was never true in the first place. Another fact the media got wrong.

Yes but they got it from Pakistani Intelligence Service who the Americans also collaborate with and trumpet if it suits their cause.
Alive or dead, the Bush administration will try and manipulate it to further the American war of terror.
I don't know where that rumour started about the kidney stuff, but when people state the rumour came from a particular source I always ask "how do you know that"?. 99% of the time most people cannot prove where the information came from and that it was fact.
Most people will say I heard it from a friend or something. Normally the rumours start when people hear only part of a particular conversation and then take it out on context. Then put that on top of the press that wants to be the first to break the news, so then rushes forward, without checking all the facts correctly.
An example of this would be the conspiracy that the pentagon was hit by a missile.
They show an interview with a guy that observed the attack. They show him saying "a missile hit the Pentagon". That's prove to them, but if you listen to the clip before people have edited everything out the guy actually says " the aircraft hit the Pentagon like a missile".
So the kidnay rumour started with what and who?? answer is no one knows. It was something the press picked up on and then just put out there.

Rubbish - I know and so do many others that actually read the news.
Here is the direct quote that many of us picked up on and Musharraf only backed away from this in 2004.
Pakistan President, General Pervez Musharraf - January 2002. "I think now, frankly, he is dead for the reason he is a patient, he is a kidney patient," he told CNN. Gen. Musharraf added, "Pakistan knew bin Laden took two dialysis machines into Afghanistan. One was specifically for his own personal use."
Pilgrim I have no doubt you read it and so did I along with most of the world, but just because Musharraf said it, does not make it fact. Just as GWB said there was weapons of mass destruction etc etc.
Things get reported out of contest and all of a sudden it becomes fact. Look at Katrina and what was said about that. I saw a death totals of 30,000 being given, that murder, rape etc etc was common place. Infact it was nothing like that.
what it all comes down to is bad reporting. Its so easy today to but things out there especially with the net that have no basis in fact.
Pilfrim didn't say it was true, just how it got started which is what you asked for.
