The one advantage of podunk police here is that they aren't afraid to get their hands dirty and I have every confidence that either the local city police or armed householders will shoot any kids that step out of line.
In fact, there have been a rash of justified homicides lately here - I think the kids/criminals had forgotten that the cops/some householders are armed and were getting a bit brave, invading homes. Lots of crocodile tears shed for a 16 year old boy killed by an armed homeowner protecting his property and family but the trail of destruction in his wake, including many cars broken into that night suggests we are much better off without him.
Silly boy - fancy breaking into the home of an ex-Marine with a wife and child he wanted to protect.
