Great statement.
I agree, hearing and listening are two different things. And to be honest, I am not surprised that Americans are not reading, they have a hard time when it comes to reading college-university level books and complain about having to do a research or read text required for the course. I see that everyday. America is a society that likes fast this fast that, no wonder the news and some web sitess, are full of zip-zap news and some people even get their news from Jay Leno roll . They are impatient and reluctant to agree that this war was big time effing mistake. Say otherwise and you can be seen as a traitor.
Not surprising really when "Whats on the telly tonight" passes for news on most networks. Come on, fer craps sake. Lets have a little reality check! No wonder people can't figure out the difference between fact and fiction - the lines are deliberately blurred ! shock

Good point but the * news * as such consists of 2 min sound bites between masses of advertizing no one can get a fair and informative opinion on any subject matter when presented like that .

I use the internet combined with sound bites from several stations to form opinions on politiaccly charged subjects .
unfortunatly with those inpower *which ever party * there is only so much TRUTH you can obtain however hard you try . Spin is a well tuned state of the art arm of those who we elect to **serve us **( sarcasm )

Presidents , administations etc are judged by there actions YEARS after they leave power . history brings us closer to the truth.
the present info you are forced feed throu the media has a slant either way according to who says it and the stations agenda .
