Was watching something on Katrina last night and it made me think. Imagine having to leave your place in 5 minutes or less. Can you figure what you would grab to take with you, knowing everything else will be lost?

You cannot say wife/husband, kids and pets they are a given lol
Xbox 360 and the external hard disk drive off my PC.

Don't really care about the rest.
my laptop, draw with negatives for older photos in, and box with all our important documents (wills, birth certificates, greencards, details of bank accounts, etc)
The safe with all the important stuff in,laptop and spare hard drive, tub full of photos, my 2 US flags from my hubbies funeral.
Daughter and the pusscats. Everything in our safe is within a plastic bag. I'm sure hubby can fight his way out for himself. Oh, and we'll drive in my car, not his. ;)
Beer, portable dvd player, dvds and headphones for kids, inflatable boat and oars, torches, camera, passports and greencards.

1) live for tomorrow not yesterday
2) I know where all these things are and could grab them in 5 minutes -the photos would take hours to find and extract.

;)

At least one gun, a toothbrush, a change of underwear, passport and cellphone.

Yeah, I thought about my rifle later. If anything like New Orleans, the authorities would try to take it off you though, as unconstitutional as that is.

Fire safe in which we keep valuable docs and CD's of photos.
Would like to grab all my other photos, but there are thousands of theme (probably tens of thousands) - so not practical.
Odd really, I rarely look at them, but after the wife and kids, they are the first thing that comes to mind.
I've already taken five minutes to think about it and can't come up with anything much! In a real situation, I'd probably end up with nothing!
I still have a backpack with all our important papers, passports etc that I packed last September when we were supposed to evacuate from Hurricane Rita. Hopefully it will not be needed this year..... roll wink
