interesting article. I much rather watch news in Britain than dull and boring U.S. newscast.
What they fail to mention is how parochial and ethnocentric the US media is - including the WP.
Fours years on from arriving here I've worked my way through the online and print versions of the WP, Boston Globe, NYT and Christian Science monitor.

They were all variously dull, uninformative and plain wrong on international stories. (The Globe had an article on Royal Mail privatisation last Sunday which was littered with inaccuracies).

I still read the Torygraph and the Grauniad most days. Informative, well written and interesting - although, not faultless. (I still wonder what country Gary Younge is really in when he writes about America).
P.S.
This would be a good example of that quality we get in US papers

Of course "Slate" would run a similar article on the WP - except that WP owns Slate....
The Telegraph guy has a point - you wouldn't pick them out as the worst daily paper in UK - they'd be at least third, if not further down.

I agree the the WP is boring. I read the NY Times now and then but you could get their stories anywhere I suppose, seeing as they have issues with plaigarism.

In the American way, I find USA Today to be the most interesting, simply due to the pictures and use of color. wink
