What a shame.
There is a horse chestnut tree outside my office which makes me smile each autumn when the conkers start dropping.
However, I noticed a tree a few blocks away in the city and it had a notice pasted to it saying it had Dutch Elm Disease and was slated for removal at some point sad

I feel the same. There must be 50 or so conker trees by the beach here, and all going to waste.
