me too, me too  aren't you glad monster didn't put up another post tempting us into places we want to go

Saw them when in Scandanavia many years ago... stunning.
Saw them here in Ottawa a couple of times.
You really need a movie camera to show the changing light patterns.
There are some short clips on this site, I could spend time looking at the bears and glaciers as well

Perhaps we should all go together!

Every winter while living in Edmonton,Alberta.I would call them one of the wonders of the world~ Fantastic ~They are constantly shimmering, glowing and moving no still photograph or movie can do them justice.
I say if you can afford to see plastic city, Micky Mouse land you can take a trip up into Canada to see something out of this world....
I saw the northern lights in Alaska about 5 years ago. They wre beautiful. I had seen them several times here in Minnesota (as I grew up in Northern Minnesota)before but they were exceptionally beautiful and colorfull in Alaska.

smile Melissa
Saw them in Norway... but they're a pita to photograph properly.
No experiences, but would love to see them.
Saw them in Iceland December before last, gorgeous. But didn't show up on the mediocre digital camera I had with me. Shimmery, and glowy green over the harbor, beautiful.
Edmonton's worth a visit just to go to the biggest most amazing mall I have seen - although there is sure to be a bigger and better one in the US. Any mall with a water park, amusement park including rollercoaster, a full size ice rink and an entire "main street" of restaurants is worth a week long visit let alone a day's.
